While often associated with childbirth, the core concept of a doula is about providing a supportive, consistent, and personalized presence when clients need it most.

The Doula's Role: Compassion in Action

A doula's support is fundamentally different from that of a medical professional. Our role is designed to complement, not replace, your clinical care team.

• Non-Medical Guidance: Doulas do not provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, or perform clinical tasks. We are there to help you understand the information you receive from your medical team and organize your thoughts and questions.
• A Continuous Presence: Unlike busy medical staff who have shift changes and multiple patients, a doula offers consistent, personalized support, acting as a steady anchor throughout your journey.
• Emotional and Physical Comfort: We provide a calming presence, a listening ear, comfort measures, and hands-on support to help you feel seen, heard, and relaxed during stressful times.
• Informational Assistance: We help you navigate complex information, ensuring you feel empowered to make informed decisions that align with your personal values and preferences.
• Empowerment and Advocacy: We support you in finding your voice and help you communicate your wishes to your care team, ensuring your dignity and personal preferences are respected at every turn.

Cancer Doulas (Oncology Doulas): Specialize in guiding individuals through the unique challenges of a cancer diagnosis and treatment, from initial diagnosis through survivorship or end-of-life care. 

In essence, a doula fills the gap between the necessary medical services and the human need for constant, compassionate, and personalized companionship during critical, often vulnerable, life moments.

YES! We can meet online and go over all of the logistics when we connect for our consult. 

My work is deeply rooted in compassion and connection. As your doula, my fee reflects the time, specialized training, and dedication I bring to ensure you receive the highest quality support.

Our initial 15 minute consult is free of charge. From there, I will develop a customized quote to fit your needs if you choose my services. 

As my services are considered non-medical and holistic support, they are not typically covered by medical insurance or Medicare. However, I can provide you with a detailed invoice that you may be able to submit to a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for potential reimbursement. Please check with your plan administrator for details.
